Smart Home

Shifted house to Bartley Area to be nearer to the boy's secondary school.

Other than spending time on renovation and furnishing, spent most of my effort learning about Apple Homekit, Aqara and Homebridge (HOOBS) to build a smart home. Below is the summary of the smart home setup:

Devices connected to Apple HomePod Mini directly:

• Aqara D100 Security Door Lock
• Aqara G3 Security Camera Hub
• Wemo Mini Smart Plug, which controls desk-lamps that should not be wired to wall-switches
• Nanoleaf Bulb

Devices connected to Apple HomePod Mini indirectly via Aqara Hub M2:

• Aqara D1 Switches, which control lights and fans wired to wall-switches
• Aqara Water Leak Sensor (using it as a rain detector with sporadic success)
• Aqara E1 Curtain Driver
• Aqara Wireless Mini Switch
• Aqara P1 Motion Sensor

Devices connected to Apple HomePod Mini indirectly via HOOBS (Homebridge out-of-the-box):

• TP-Link Tapo LP900-5 light strips (LP910 and LP920 are too heavy to stick onto surfaces due to the additional weight of the PU-coating)
• Ecovacs Deebot X1 Turbo vacuum robot
• Tuya water heater switches
• Somfy Connexoon RTS-controlled balcony zip blinds
• Broadlink RM4 Pro-controlled infra-red devices (e.g. air conditioners)
